The Girl with the Red Purse

"The Girl with the Red Purse"

-------- -- -------------------- ------------------

A warm ray of sun softly blushes my cheeks, as it does, it --
 Rekindles my inner being, I felt a flutter like no other; a
  Lovely girl so captivating catches a worthy glimpse of my heart,
   Enticing it to pump erratically, yet my vessels were in absolute harmony;
    Never did I feel such an intense emotion, no reasoning can explain it,
     Except, I'm certain, my body and soul were entwined for once.

Ordinary is an understatement, it was pretty exceptional that I was sure,
 Brings me back to memory lane, when I first notice that she was indeed special,
  Recounting our love story the day that started it all, -- when I took her "purse";
   Everything went into place, the universe conspired with me, a heavy downpour of
    Rains gushed from the heavens and gave me the chance to be close to her,
     Overjoyed, we walked under the showering sky within the enclave of her umbrella.

Destiny took over, the heart can explain what the mind cannot, days went by
 Unnoticed, our hearts were lacing up and were beating the same song;
  Nothing can ever stop us, we found solace in each other's arms,
   Grasping hands interlockingly, we did a lot of stuff together,
    Committing to each other a blissful life, laughter and love -- and it
     All started when the boy took the purse from the girl!

Happy Birthday Mommy Len -- my forever Baby! The girl with the purse!

Cloud Nine

"Cloud Nine"
9 special verses for RomLen's 9th wedding anniversary
By Roms

-------- - -------------------- ---------

1 Once there was a lass whose face looked so divine,
I swore that her heart will one day be mine;
To exchange sweet nothings as we dine,
Her beauty lasts and lingers, gets even better as it ages like wine.

2 Behold such awesome beauty exquisitely refine(d),
All that I pray and hope in a woman is with thine;
What I once dreamt has become a reality so fine,
We eventually became lovers 'coz our hearts and souls were entwine(d).

3 As the first of the eighth month approaches, celestials have decided to define,
The universe has made its move, our planets align;
Call it Serendipity, fate or destiny, more fittingly called a trine,
Our stars were in harmony, it was a remarkable sign.

4 Several wonderful years have passed, to be exact 'twas nine,
Being partners was great but we needed affirmation that's divine;
We unfold on a new chapter, the "ploy of dates" was a great sign,
To fulfill heaven's mandate and exchange our vows in a shrine.

5 On our 108th moons together, our vows enshrine(d),
1st of the 8th moon of that year it was (801), the dates twine(d);
'Twas a melancholic day for the nation, the sky cried like a brine,
Yet, Lo and behold, the heavens confirms a couple marching towards God's shrine.

6 Life is a wondrous mystery itself, alone it creates whirl and line,
An utter demise or a new beginning, each people's fate have a unique design;
We believe in providence and good karma, everything we lift to the one Divine,
The past is a teacher, the present a gift, the future brings forth an outline.

7 A couple of years elapsed, a bundle of joy emerged as we combine --,
Our bodies and souls, not to mention our traits and genes entwine(d);
The most elaborate gift, a blessing of a beloved progeny is in line,
We cannot contain our awe and gladness, our hearts leapt in elation so define(d).

8 108 moons had once again transpired, 18 years together with so little whine,
Our love has grown deeper and reaped fruits aplenty like a fig tree not a vine;
Our affection for each other is as polished as a diamond so refine(d),
Quagmires and trials, struggles and challenges, together we decline(d).

9 Cheers to couple of 18 years or more as one, we shall never waiver to define,
A love's promise that's Heaven made, brought about by providence Divine;
We both commit to God, the love, respect and understanding be Thine,
We pray to the Almighty Father to grant us endless bliss and experience everlasting CLOUD NINE!

A Gala Night to Remember: Urban Smiles at 5

A Gala Night to Remember: Urban Smiles at 5

-----

My 5 takes on the recently concluded 5th anniversary celebration of Urban Smiles Dental Cliniic...

-----

It's my 2nd time to attend an anniversary celebration the company I'm currently working for -- and this was such a milestone for me because this is likewise the first ever official company that I've been employed wherein there are more than 10 peeps working together -- colleagues, dental assistants, front desk officers and admin staff. This, however remarkable, is undeniably my first -- and there is totally no problem with that -- it's a milestone!

Urban Smiles had just turned 5 years old, it can be likened to a growing up toddler -- a preschooler perhaps, a kid who is awaiting or developing to be of age. A point in life where anything seem curious and promising, and everything deserves to be explored and learned and -- lived!

For starters, the theme for the 5th anniversary celebration is grand gala night, so naturally everyone is expected to come in their best suits and gowns -- and we did! It was something new and refreshing. Unlike the previous years where the celebration was held in a resto with just a plain dinner for the employees together with the bosses, this year was a notch higher! Why not, it was a milestone for a company to reach its 5th founding anniversary that has literally grown in numbers, not merely with the number of employees but with the number of branches, USDC has 5 branches already, technically 1 new branch each year -- it's quite impressive for a company in a technologically-advancing and highly-competitive industry to cope up and be close at par with the leading competition.

----- Take 1

As the sun sets and a threat of a storm slowly drifts afar. On the 9th night of the 7th month, as the clock strikes 8 in an elegantly fashioned events place, Bella Ibarra, one by one, guests start to arrive in their flashy and classy suits and gowns. It was an elaborate set up -- the stage design was glittery, the buffet was exquisitely fashioned (tho' not everything on the menu was sumptuous nor delicious, but gloriously the lechon saved the night!), a photo booth was strategically set near the entrance, tables were elegantly set and allotted for every branch personnel and guests, Dr. Grace Orlina with her husband and daughter, our Orthodontic clinical consultant, was also present, company friends i.e. D Pro peeps (who have been handling the company's events like team building) and smile brand ambassadors namely Mr. Sam Mangubat, Eumee Capile of ABS-CBN's Tawag ng tanghalan, and GMA artists Addy Raj and Lharby Policarpio all graced the event

A few minutes before the event commenced, my good friend, Dr. Harold and I were having a blast chatting here and there with other USDC employees, getting a flicker or two, or maybe even several, lol, of camera shutters left and right. I think we were among the first ones posing for the photo booth with different peeps, it was certainly one of the perks of arriving a bit early.

As 4 meager hours is left before midnight, the night rightfully kick started with a spontaneous yet eloquent prayer led by Dr. Rebbie and then the program proper set in. Posing in as master of ceremony is our brand ambassador and beauty queen, the vivacious, gorgeous and articulate Miss Philippines Earth 2013, Ms. Angelee Delos Reyes, who unequivocally did a great job, she was such a natural!

To formally open and set the mood for the night's gala, USDC CEO Sir Ruel Apostol did his welcome address, complete with PowerPoint presentation. He talked about the humble beginnings of Urban Smiles and how he envisioned the company as early as years prior to its conception. He stressed that only less than 50% of new companies last to enjoy their 5th founding anniversary, mostly fall short -- so it's safe to say that those who celebrate its half a decade in their respective industry in itself is an achievement. He further said that in today's ever-changing, technologically-advancing and highly-competitive age in business, it is tough enough to stay operational for 5 years but tougher even to go hand-in-hand and toe-to-toe with the latest innovations in the industry, saying that Dentistry might someday be a thing of the past and be an obsolete industry, (though I highly disagree and doubt that this will ever happen, simply because health care is an integral part of human existence, oral care is as vital as any discipline in Medicine -- surely technological advancements are in-demand in the 22nd century and those in the healthcare industry, dentistry for this matter, must keep up with the trends.

Further, the CEO then discussed something about an acronym VUCA which stands for Vulnerability, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity, and pledged that amidst all of these variables he will do everything with the best of his abilities, as long as he's still CEO, to catch up, keep up, suit up and brave any odds just to put Urban Smiles at par with its competition and probably surpass them in the future -- this will materialize of course with the help of everyone in the company working as a TEAM!

I too, have an acronym to leave you guys, TEAM stands for Together Everyone Achieves More -- and I'll leave it at that.

----- take 2

Moving forward, after the CEO address, a brand ambassador who is a patient from the newly-opened Fairview branch, Mr. Sam Mangubat gave a couple of song number which specifically mesmerized the ladies of Urban, and/or probably some men as well, lmao. Immediately after, a big reveal that was never anticipated was announced -- loyalty awardees were named and given a FREE all expense paid vacation trip to HongKong for 2! It's said that "Many are called, few are chosen", these highly-commended individuals who have stayed in Urban Smiles for 5 possibly-stressful-yet-surely-fun-filled years were Dr. Net ("the mother") Dr. Elle (our soft spoken head dentist), Cheene (our ever-reliable head DA) and Berto (my fave DA) -- they are indeed the epitome of the verse because they have weathered every storm and outlasted several people whom they have worked in the past 5 years.

the Loyalty Awardees bound to HK!

Doc Elle, "the soft-spoken head Dentist"

Doc Net, "The Mother"

Cheene Joy, "The ever-reliable, small but terrible Head DA!

Berto, my fave DA, well i think almost every dentist wants him to assist them!

Naturally, each were asked to give a speech but Doc Elle's words were both striking and timely, at least for me. She gave an anecdote on her reflections of her Urban Smiles journey for the last 5 years and she made an analogy of the company to an LRT train ride. She emphasized that an LRT train ride gives a mix of intense feelings and unique experience to everyone aboard -- there are times that a ride will be rough, a lot of people are squeezed in together but sometimes it is spacious. The ride may be inconvenient for some, others might not come on their appointments on time, but for most people, this ride is the safe, fast and reliable way to their destination. Somebody will alight yet someone will surely ride in a station, one thing's for sure -- she is glad to see every faces that gala night who have ridden the ride and have chosen to stay until now, it is surely not the end of the line and she hopes that a hefty will still be there in the journey with her and the rest of the gang. Such an inspiring story to tell  and worth sharing!

----- Take 3

After a few more words from the loyalty awardees, another brand ambassador, Eumee of TNT gave a riveting performance worth sharing via FB live! And then, the highly anticipated and most sought after part of the program happened -- the DINEER! Hehehe,,,

https://www.facebook.com/ruelpierreapostol/videos/1365533243591062/

Left to entertain famished Urban peeps queueing for the buffet table was a live band "I forgot their group name, I'm truly sorry for that", which in all fairness was good, if not great.

To break the monotony, a video presentation was played. A few days before the event, marketing staff kept on asking for pictures from different branches, some were serious and others were candid, not to mention selfies and fun moments inside the clinic. So it was literally, a compilation of Urban Peeps' cherished and treasured moments -- and so here it is! Just click the link!

Right before the announcement of the 2 highly awaited awards to be given, not to mention the male and female stars of the night; raffle prizes were drawn and select individuals were luckily given tokens, Soon followed the naming of the 2 coveted awards -- the male and female stars of the nigh. 5 males and 5 females were hand picked by Ms. Angie and were given the chance to walk the aisle and display their elegance and poise -- after a few walks and several applause, Dr. Froilan, from Manila branch, was named male star of the night while a newbie Dr. Michelle, from Fairview branch, was named female star of the night. Both were stunning and deserving.

----- Take 4

Thereafter, it was USDC President, Sir Ralph's (who just graduated DMD), turn to address the hall. The speech was elaborately inspirational and informational as well, he made an analogy of Urban Smiles as a huge and diverse family and he, being the president, is the father of the family. It is but natural, he said, for any event of Urban analogous to a dinner in a family, where he would tend to look for each family members present or absent because each are both important for him... He then went on telling the humble start of Urban Smiles, with PowerPoint slides also, he showed pictures of the original peeps behind the start of the company, not all remained, a few stayed, but he's still thankful that a whole lot of new members add up to the growing Urban Smiles family. Nostalgia set in, when he reminisced the good ole days and how and when each branch started (with complete date and circumstance on how each branch begun its soft opening). And at that moment, he introduced the members of the newly opened Fairview branch.

After which, it was time to name who were the deserving awardees of the much-coveted Employee and Dentist of the Year Award respectively. A week prior to the event, there was an online voting for the eligible candidates of each category. A set of criteria were given out to everyone for an orderly selection of possible winners. For the employee of the year, there were 5 individuals selected as top 5 -- first, Ms. Ann, FD of Manila branch; second, Ms. Erica, FD of Manila branch; third, Ms. Aira, FD of Cubao branch; fourth, Mr. Bert, DA for almost all branches; and fifth, Dr. Vero Lago, associate dentist in Sta. Lucia branch. But, the most deserving who got the award was no other than Manila branch front desk officer, Ms. Erika Coronel, who happened to be the recipient of the same award for Manila branch in particular the previous year, tho' the employee of the year award this year was a bit special because there is a sole winner for the category, not just per branch. Teary-eyed, Ecka, received her award which was a FREE all expense-paid vacation trip to HongKong for (2), and was almost speechless when she addressed her heartfelt thanks to those voted for her and the admin as well.

The Employee of the Year, Ms. Erika Coronel

Lastly, the highlight of the evening, the Dentist of the Year Award was out for grabs. In the same manner, there was an online voting casted a week prior the event. Astonishingly, among the elite roster of Associate Dentists that Urban Smiles have, Yours truly together with Dr. Kristel and Dr. Mara were named top 3 -- (I really can't believe I was selected to be among the cream of the top, tho' I believe every dentist in Urban Smiles have a great shot for the award). Nevertheless, the most deserving and awarded Dentist of the Year was Dr. Mara, who just won for herself a FREE international seminar; when, what and where, we are just delighted and excited for her. An awkward moment was when we were asked to say something and I was the first to take the mic, well, besides the several times I said "thanks" and "congrats to us all", I don't like to dwell with what I said (forgive the lengthy minutes I have consumed, but this was what I was driving at, please just read on my blog about it click this to read my blog, thanks!). it was quite a humbling experience and I'm truly grateful for the recognition.

Dr. Kristel likewise said her thanks and congratulations. Dr. Mara, the big winner as well took the opportunity to thank the bosses and address her message to everyone. A well-deserved win,  I think I congratulated Doc Pets personally but let me take this chance once more to say this (Doc Pets, pa-pizza ka sa Manila sa Saturday, pupunta ako, makikikain!") thank you!

----- Take 5

On one hand, as the night was coming to a close, and pretty soon dawn shall take charge once again like any other day -- everybody were onto their feet dancing the night away, singing their hearts out, gracing the stage like celebrities, posing like ANTModel-wannabes (with the bosses) and being themselves like care-free souls! It was a night like no other.

On the other hand, It was melancholic and nostalgic for some, who are about to leave the walls of USDC and embark on a new endeavor, they will be of course missed but more importantly, the traces they will leave will forever be scarred on the hearts of the people they, in one way or another, have touched and inspired. To Dr. Kim, you will forever leave a dent within the history of USDC as one of the best dentist the company had once had and your strong presence and leadership qualities will be missed gravely; to Dr. Mitch, your lovely and bubbly presence in the Pasay clinic will be greatly missed, not just by your work mates but pretty sure by your patients as well; and to Al, your "Mr. Congeniality" personality will somehow be a loss for the team, and your lively attitude and good assisting skills will be sought for. There are also those who didn't make it till the anniversary nor team building activity, because they left earlier for personal reasons, your absence in the gala night was surely felt. To Rox, ("the preggy one"), nope I know you're on a maternity leave but we do hope that you'll come back after giving birth, not immediately, of course after your prescribed rest, lol; to Bads, we never had the chance to work together but surely the peeps in Cubao and Sta. Lucia are missing you; to Shaima ("khaleesie") well, besides your golden hair, Pasay and Manila branch will gravely miss your weird antics that nobody can match, hope you're doing fine and giving your new workmates a huge heck of laughter; and to Thea (the active one), may you find solace and content on your new work as an SB barista (please don't forget my tumbler, mug and quarterly supply of coffee beans!!).

We hope that there are no burning of bridges, and someday soon, our paths will cross somehow. No good byes, just see you soon -- Till that day, we just wanna wish you all good luck and God speed!

-----

It was indeed a gala night to remember, an affair to treasure, a memoir for keeps! Some may say, and so the event is done, back to reality! But I say, from now on moving forward, each USDC employee, every urban family member, should keep their heads high with "humility", continue on with their everyday tasks with "hardwork" and always keep in mind to put "kindness" within the halls of the clinic in everything they do. And together let us keep and live our company mantra, "to a lifetime of healthy smiles..."

3 Essential Things I've Learned to Appreciate and Hope to Enhance in My 6-Month Stint as an OFW: HUMILITY, HARD WORK and KINDNESS

3 Essential Things I've Learned to Appreciate and Hope to Enhance in My 6-Month Stint as an OFW: HUMILITY, HARD WORK and KINDNESS

Time really flies so swiftly. Initially, I never thought I could last even a single week being away from my love ones, especially my gorgeous wifey and precious daughter, Albeit how difficult it was, I still managed to last half a year -- whew! What a milestone it is! So what's remarkable!? Nothin' much really but I've written a short blog which I hope would inspire OFWs to continue the great work they've been doing all these years. Here's a salute to us OFWS -- here it goes.

---------------
I often ask myself in my quiet solitude what motivated me to embark in this challenge of working abroad... aside from getting a fair relief in finances for myself and family? What really moved me to do this and what ultimate good I can get from this experience? My prayers and contemplation got me writing this piece. Hope someone may get something good from it tho'.

---------------
In success... In trying times... In triumph... In frustrations... In whatever happenings in my life here in an estranged foreign land, I just hold on to these 3 essential things and my worries are no more of importance.

KINDNESS  encompasses everything that is good. I believe in the bible passage "What you sow is what you reap". Essentially, when you show kindness to others, it will come back a hundredfold, or a thousandfold even. In this chaotic and hypocritical world we live in, it is easier to be bold, arrogant, rude, aloof, distrusting or even cynical. Name any pessimistic trait there is, and I'm pretty sure any of you have tried to be one in one way or another. But, the bible stresses "the truth shall set you free", and fortunately we are created by God first and foremost in His own image and likeness -- KIND in one word!

So why do people tend to divert from the "all is good" attitude? Some would often say "to go with the flow", or "it's easier to do bad as what others would". As what Freud conceptualized in his structural model of the Psyche, the id is a set of uncoordinated instinctual trends -- so basically when one chooses to do bad things over the good, the Id prevails than our alter ego. (Read on this concept of psychological apparatus by Sigmund Freud for further reference). But I'd say, coining Freud's another famous concepts, the conscious human mind is just a tip of an iceberg, metaphorically the one submerged into the waters is way bigger than what one sees or even knows -- and I believe that God has reserved that fathomless deepness for KINDNESS! we just have to dig deeper into our thoughts and dive abysmally into our hearts and find it.

"Be careful with your thoughts they become words, be careful with your words they become actions, be careful with your actions they become a habit, and be careful with your habits they become your character, and your character defines you..." - Gandhi

HARD WORK can never be compared to forced labor or slavery. When we say hard work, it is composed of two essential things, passion and sacrifice. "Forced labor is any kind of work or service wherein people are forced to do against their will under the threat of some punishment." It is greatly abhorrent and should be a thing of the past, sadly there are still traces of modern day slavery happening all around the world -- and evidently there is no Passion and Sacrifice involved.

People nowadays who are part of the work force may or may not agree with this but they do have the passion but lacks sacrifice or vice versa,,, what I've learned from being away from my love ones for more than half a year is it takes an ample supply of sacrifice and passion to do it -- what more for those OFWs who have been exhausting their lives for years working abroad. Sacrificing the comfort of being with their families in person just to attend for their financial needs. Passionately offering their expertise to other nations just to earn what they truly deserve -- because the truth is we are undercompensated in our own country  and the only logical means to make both ends meet is to work overseas, and be miles apart from the people we love the most. Reality bites, It's the sad and harsh truth.

I don't underrate the people who are working in the country especially the underpaid professionals like teachers and nurses, to be honest I salute them because they choose to offer their service and expertise to serve our kababayans and that's honorable in its strict sense. However, at the end of the day, even after long shifts and toxic duties or a stressful day in teaching and doing lesson plans, they still find solace in the comforts of their homes with their families and for that I envy them. And if possible I would gladly trade places with them just to hug and cuddle my wifey and daughter.

In my short stint in a foreign land so far, I have managed to realize that hard work truly pays off... Not just in matters of finances but in self-actualization. The mere fact that an OFW offers their expertise to benefit another race, another brethren not of same race or ethnicity, is something noble and extraordinary. And the feeling of fulfillment is priceless especially when your work is appreciated. For me, the genuine smile in my patient's faces when they are content and happy with the outcome of their treatment makes my heart leap for unexplainable joy, something that money can't buy. And I can say this modesty aside that it's what makes OFWs cling and hang on to their work abroad, without these and just money, I'm pretty certain that they will more likely seek to work in the Philippines instead.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13

HUMILITY Is such a powerful and absolute thing that is pretty hard to live by. It takes a lot of guts and extreme control of one's senses to exhibit such. It's not just a mind over matter trick but authentically a complete riddance of not merely arrogance but pride. It's hard to do mind you, I know you do, but what I'm trying to drive at is that it is never to late to radiate such a thing to your present surroundings most specifically to your workplace.

Most of the time, being cooped up with so much stress-related work load keep our cool hang by a thin-thread that could break easily, and/or sometimes just a bit of outside stressor can trigger the sleeping lion within us and we tend to lose our calm and instantly snap in outrage or disgust over things. We are merely humans and pardon me for the cliche but we are indeed born to make mistakes... But the good news is, I believe that inside everyone's hearts is filled with compassion and love for others, and if so it can be a source of the humility that is needed to do one's work with extreme dedication and commitment.

I honestly don't believe that one needs to be a saint or a religious to display humility. What's needed I think is self-awareness. Self-awareness is something I've learned as a Nursing student during my Psychiatric ward exposure. It's  simply knowing yourself --your strengths & weakness, beliefs & dissents, capabilities & limits - and using them as a means to reach out to an individual who is in need of your helping hand. If you know the real you, you won't easily be swayed by explicit annoyance from anyone but rather practice tolerance amid it all, tho' difficult it may sound, and just shrug off any negativity.

It's not easy, you will really be tested. The stressors are just there, sometimes even back home, as what I've noticed to some. The choice is solely on you, if you would give in and let your emotions get the worse of you or make them instead a chance, an opportunity, to channel every bit of negative into positive, I know being cynical is a lot whole easier yet I still believe if you just concentrate and put love in everything you do then anything is possible. After all, being humble is much more rewarding than being arrogant and proud. The choice is yours.

"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellowman; true nobility is being superior to your former self." - Ernest Hemingway

P.S.
I started drafting this blog exactly on the day of my 6th month here (21st of January) and that's roughly a couple of days short of a whole month now! It's been a while really. My good friend Cris (an OFW who works in an INGO) reminded me that he wants to read another of my blogs, so here it goes. Honestly, these great people who I spend my only weekend (Friday) off from work are my inspiration why I wrote this particular blog. They are the perfect example of these 3 words that I try and hope to apply in my stint not just here abroad but in my journey throughout life.

P.S.S.
This is still a higher yearning in my pursuit of finding my purpose, and hoping to live and share it to the rest of humanity. A legacy worth living.

---------------
Inspirations:
To doc Wes and Kuya Nols, for being an epitome of these 3 words in the workplace for over 12 years.
To Cris, Kuya Gers and Ateng Mars, for being a realization of these 3 words in their efforts and works in their respective Int'l NGOs
To Kuya Hecs and utol Jas, for being my fellow newbies in the OFW arena, may we learn and live these 3 words wholeheartedly.

SOONOQO (so-no-ko)
"Come back"
An Elegy for Papa
6 April 2016

---- ------ - --------- --- ---------

When finally after three daughters, "Baby" got a son,
You willfully named me after you with that no one can contend;
Proud dad you were when I was born for sure it was fun,
I could imagine you writing your name gleefully with "Junior" at the end.

Growin' up, tho' we didn't have much time together,
I knew you were straining your body for work;
I grew up havin' someone to look up as a provider,
And you did great for I am not what I'm today if not for your hard-work.

We never had a chance to be close and all,
But hey we had moments when watching our fave team play ball;
Our bond was of unusual kind, we were buddies at heart and soul,
I know you were proud when I graduated, pass the board and stood tall.

We both love coffee, music and a simple life,
But undoubtedly you were far better than me in fixing stuff;
We may have difference of opinions in various topics with a bluff,
But we share one thing in common -- that's our love for our dear wife.

You were such a righteous man in a corruptible world,
You never faltered, eyes never gleamed for the love of money;
Instead you insured your integrity fully intact, never let yourself caught in a whirl,
For that I'm one proud son, and mama can boast that she is your honey.

After you retired, your found a new hobby,
to devote your life in prayer for your family and to others;
The church became your fave sanctuary,
Such a selfless act to do, it's like everyone were your sisters and brothers.

Since I worked abroad, we never had a chance to really bond,
But I'm truly thankful for you were a playmate for my precious one;
Before I left, we talked, hugged and wish all is well,
I never knew this would be our last farewell.

Soonoqo, soonoqo, I will come back O dear papa,
But it seems you're also coming back to your heavenly papa,
Wait for me, I'll traverse continents to see you one last time,
Hope to see you before your last breath expires in time.

Soonoqo, soonoqo, 77 years you spent in this world,
We will never forget all the happy days that we shared;
You lived your life without any regrets, you believe in life's worth,
We'll always treasure your wisdom and teachings, our morality you spared.

Soonoqo, soonoqo, the Heavens await for your return,
A beloved son is coming back home to stay;
I know you'll be happy in paradise, you deserve it, it's your turn,
There will be no more pain, clear eyesight, on the clouds you'll lay.
