I
TWELVE years ago --
An angel was brought forth to us from heavens;
God entrusted two meek parents,
The privilege to love and nurture,
A precious, pretty and cuddly gurl.
We named her Arianna Revekah - Rhian,
Which means "Very Holy Maiden."

From then on, Arianna became our source of delight and content,
Every single day is made extra special just by seeing her & smelling her scent;
Her antics and charisma makes her more lovable,
Her cute smile and saintly laugh is so irresistible;
The joy she brings is genuinely pure without a dent,
We are just pleased to have such a gift that's heaven-sent.

You came quite unexpectedly yet longed for,
You were the sweetest answered prayer we could ask for;
You're the fullness of our being,
You made our hearts and minds leapt in fleeting;
We couldn't hold our gladness when we first heard your heart beating,
Uncontrolled feeling like that of a carousel that circles unceasing.

A father is a daughter's first man,
A daughter is forever a dad's little woman;
It's such a proud moment to see you grow up to be just fine,
I'm quite sure years from now men will fall in line;
But wait! don't haste to become a young lady,
Remember, you'll always be daddy's baby!

From my short-stint in Africa, I went back to my dear loved ones,
You were shy at first, but eventually we bonded over sumptuous food at once,
For almost a year I have never hugged nor kissed you,
I missed our usual as well as our weird bonding moments out of the blue.

Slowly, you are growing into a fine lady, but please don’t haste,
You have a lot of interests, mainly you love singing and dancing;
We love to hone your interests, entered you into several lessons, we didn’t waste,
Yet, you are still trying to find out what you truly love doing.

Remarkably kind, in words and in action, I’m grateful for what mom has taught you -
You simply are an apple in our eyes our precious one,
You never had problems in obeying our wishes, in lieu -
You always give us laughter and joy, you never fail to bring the fun.

Home is where your heart is, rest assured that mom and dad are beside you forever,
The world is a cruel place to live in, but with kindness and humility -
Coupled with hard work and the desire to do what is good whether -
No ifs nor buts, you will surely grow to be just fine like Aphrodite.

In the depths of our hearts, lies our longing to look after your welfare,
Always remember that your happiness is what fuels our action(s);
We won’t allow you to experience how sometimes cruel the world could bare,
But, only what’s best for you, anything that can bring you utmost satisfaction.

A dozen years have passed amazingly, yet we never noticed how time flew,
As long as we’re together, with God in our lives, who could be against us;
Enjoy the years to come, life is short, it should be lived with or without any clue,
But with faithfulness and trust with the one above, all will fall in its proper place without a fuss.

Now that you’re already twelve years old,
We just wanna wish you everything that's good and best,
Live your life, entwined with your heart's desires not just what's told,
And couple it with passion and prayer, certainly God will grant the rest.

Life is like a box of chocolates,
You never know what you're gonna get;
A precious life given is a gratitude we owe to God for decades,
Our humble supplication was graciously met;
A HIBO -- a precious GIFT from above,
This day, March 10th, we celebrate your 12th with love.
